Project Details:
Our team completed the new ground-up construction of the Humane Society of Sandusky County facility. This 6,700 square feet facility includes 10 cat adoption rooms, 3 cat isolation rooms, 15 dog kennels, 3 dog isolation rooms, laundry facilities and grooming stations. The building features three isolated HVAC systems for cats, dogs, and public areas to maintain fresh air in these three different areas. Fire alarm and fire suppression systems were installed throughout the building to provide protection for the animals even when people are not in the building. A 100kW back-up Cumins generator was also included which provides an alternative power source for to building systems.
This design-build project began with a tour of their existing facility and rough concept sketches for a new building. From that, we worked with architects, site engineers, and stakeholders to develop an energy efficient and functional building that will serve the animals and citizens of Sandusky County for years to come.
